Should I hire interns in my startup? I can’t really give general advice on this, but I can tell you what we’ve done at Mavenhut. At Mavenhut, we didn’t hire any interns, we didn’t get any interns to work at the company.

The reasoning behind it is that, for every intern that you have in the company, you need to assign a senior person to take care of that intern. So, basically, you’re taking an amount of hours from a senior person and putting that amount of hours in the training of an intern and we thought that, because we moved so fast, we can’t really take that amount of time from the senior people in the company and put it at use for interns.

Yes, after growing up beyond a certain level in terms of the team, I think you can hire and you can bring interns into your startup, but at the early stages, if you can hire as senior people as possible, you should do that. They will have the company move a lot faster.
