I’ve just returned from a 1 year trip around the world visiting the USA, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Qatar, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Sabah (Borneo), Tunisia (Africa) and back to Byron Bay in Australia where my house is.
I’ve stayed on boats, in nipa huts, hammocks, beaches and 5 star hotels, ate adobe rice and feasted at huge banquets, almost met my wife to be but it wasn’t to be ;(, had a motorbike accident in which I almost lost my finger, got malaria, met hundreds of really interesting people, surfed the biggest wave of my life, dived 70 metres onto a world war 2 wreck in Palawan PI, got violently mugged, skydived onto a tropical beach, swam with dolphins and whales and more……..and loved every moment of it.
Actually I prospered….and here’s the interesting part………..
All I had was a backpack, a sturdy but non-descriptive leather belt with an internal zipper that had 10 x US$100 bills in it (tight spot backup cash), a Panasonic ToughBook, a sort of waterproof Olympus Mini Digital camera, a ‘steal proof’ Panasonic Digital Video Camera which was stolen, my ever trusty citibank gold VISA card and about US$20,000 in travellers cheques.
The best part is I made about US$60,000 whilst I was away which meant I actually came back to my house in Byron Bay, Australia with more money in the bank than when I left!

Incetul cu incetul imi revine inspiratia :)
